Information collected when you visit

HSVHQ does not currently offer user accounts, comments, subscriptions, or forms that ask for personal information.

Like most websites, our hosting, infrastructure, and analytics providers may automatically process limited technical information when you visit, including:

  • Your IP address
  • Browser and device information
  • Pages requested
  • Referring page
  • Date and time of access
  • Error, performance, and security information

This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, maintain security, and diagnose technical problems.

Cookies and analytics

HSVHQ uses PostHog for limited, cookieless audience measurement. We collect pageviews and page-leave signals to understand landing pages, referring domains and traffic sources, anonymous sessions, bounce, visit duration, and aggregate scroll engagement.

PostHog is configured so that:

  • It does not set cookies or use local storage or session storage
  • Visitors are not identified and person profiles are not created
  • Only pageview and page-leave events are accepted
  • Query strings and URL fragments are removed before an event is sent
  • External referrers are reduced to their origin
  • Advertising campaign parameters, click identifiers, search terms, form values, and other user-entered values are not sent
  • Autocapture, session recording, heatmaps, surveys, exception capture, advertising tracking, product tours, experiments, and other interaction tracking are disabled

To count visits without a browser identifier, PostHog creates a daily rotating hash on its servers using the project, a daily salt, the request IP address, user agent, and hostname. The browser does not retain this hash, and it changes daily, so HSVHQ cannot use it to recognize a visitor on a later day. PostHog states that the IP address is stripped before location enrichment or bot detection in this mode.

Technologies strictly necessary to deliver or secure the website may still be used by our infrastructure providers.

If HSVHQ later expands analytics or introduces accounts, newsletters, or other features that materially change how visitor information is handled, this notice will be updated before the change takes effect.

Information you send us

If you contact HSVHQ by email, we may receive your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to include.

This information will be used to respond to you, investigate corrections, or address the reason you contacted us. Please avoid sending unnecessary medical records or other sensitive personal information.

Service providers

HSVHQ currently uses:

  • Vercel for website hosting and delivery
  • Supabase for database and content infrastructure
  • PostHog for the limited cookieless analytics described above

These providers may process limited technical information as necessary to operate their services. Their handling of that information is also governed by their respective privacy policies:

Because these services operate internationally, technical information may be processed outside the country where you live.

How information may be shared

HSVHQ does not sell or rent personal information.

Information may be shared only:

  • With service providers needed to operate and secure the site
  • When required by law or a valid legal request
  • When reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, fraud, or security threats
  • To protect the rights, safety, or operation of HSVHQ or others

Retention

Emails and correspondence are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain correction records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations.

Technical logs are retained according to the practices of the relevant infrastructure provider. Information is deleted or anonymized when it is no longer reasonably needed.

HSVHQ links to scientific publications, trial registries, regulators, research organizations, and other external websites. Those websites have their own privacy practices, and HSVHQ is not responsible for them.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including requesting access, correction, or deletion.

To make a privacy request concerning information you directly provided to HSVHQ, contact:

privacy@hsvhq.com

HSVHQ may need enough information to identify the relevant correspondence and verify that the request concerns you.

Children’s privacy

HSVHQ does not knowingly request or collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to HSVHQ, please contact us so it can be removed where appropriate.
